Since it’s the exam period, this is going to be a short one. I have been having all sorts of ideas why Australians, or some Australians in particular, are stupid. This is one of the things that led me to believe so. I hope this will be an ongoing post where I shall post ideas and perspective that led me to believe the same thing.
The Melbourne Italian Festival, or the closing ceremony is held on 9th and 10th June at Piazza Italia, or Argyle Square. This is the examination periods for students of Melbourne, particularly The University of Melbourne and RMIT, which is in the proximity of Piazza Italia.
I have nothing against the festival itself. Rather, I have something against the date it is being held. Organizing and holding this kind of extremely loud events in the proximity of what I would consider to be an area full of university students in their examinations period is stupid and idiotic.
Coincidentally, the Melbourne City Council seem to have some urge to re-landscape Cardigan Street. However, they couldn’t pick a better day to start doing it. According to one of the letters, the work will begin on 8th June and will end around four weeks time, weather permitting. Two days before 8th June, they cut down all the trees on the tree island on Cardigan Street.
It’s as if Australian, particularly Melbournians are out to doom us all in our examination period. I am not sure who approved the event and the work at the dates without asking the opinion of at least some of the residents, but I am pretty sure John So is involved.
Some Australians are stupid, no doubt about it.

That’s just your own point of view, U can’t expect em to “JUST CONSIDER” from students point of views, there might be other reasons why they are doing that. They are Goverments, no doubt goverments are fucked up but yet, there must be a reason. Even they are stupid, they own this place what can U do? my dear friend

I agree with the title, and I have seen plenty of proof, and I can make comparisons because I am a foreigner to Australia but I live there. They are indeed stupid, everything in this country is cheap and low quality, nothing lasts long, and near enough is good enough. But somehow everything seems to get it in their head that they are top shit. Well Australia sucks, they got nothing technologically advanced and if it is then some foreigner did it for them. Aussies are also lazy

I agree.I’m a foreign resident too.They do often seem incredibly stupid, yet at the same time seem to be very over-cofident. I don’t get it. The heat doesn’t make achievement easy and must have an effect on the brain. Also they are largely descendants of the working classes, who didn’t have time to think about much beyond survival. Thus refinement,culture, manners went out the window. A study shows the average I.Q. to be 98. England’s average I.Q. is 100. It just gets to me that they think yhey’re so good at everything when in most things they’re really not.

Australians are indeed stupid, I’ve lived in 5 countries for work and have visited many more, ayayayay the stupidity of Australians is shocking, for instance their claim that they are a great sporting nation, Ha is that a joke, most famous sporting figures abuse alcohol or use drugs as if it is the most normal thing to do and the australian public worship those idiots, and lets talk about the alcohol abuse in this country, Aussies are obsessed with alcohol, they live their lives to get wasted in the shortest possible time so that they can pick a fight. teens and high performance cars is another thing, somehow they think that because they own a V8 they have to drive like an idiot and cause accidents, you hear it on the news every day that another car load of teens got killed in a high performance car and often they were drunk, wha is it in this country, don’t they learn from this??, the answer is NO, the response of the government to this is , ” lets put these kids trough a course that teaches them how to drive these cars”, this is throwing fuel on fire, these kids only get more confident and think they can drive these big cars faster, after all ” I’ve done a special course on how to handle these cars”.
The amount of assaults in this coutry are rediculous, aussies are aclohol obsessed and agressive people with NO common sense what so ever.
I am Australian and NOT proud of it and I am happy to say that I am leaving this country this year, I will tell no one in my new home country that I am australian because I am ambarresed.
Teachers here can’t spell for shit, and that is teaching our kids, my god, an idiot teaching an a idiot, that is the same with driving lessons, aussies can’t drive for shit.
I can go on and on like this but it’s only making me sad.

and mostly Americans had bought of us, claiming them as their own:

Hell, I’ve even just read that Aussie’s have come up with

and the list goes on ..

Why would anyone search for “Australians are stupid” on Google, find this blog ranting about stupid Australian, and then proceed to defend the average Australian?
Shouldn’t you Google “Australian aren’t stupid” if you want to defend your countrymen? I can only draw my own conclusion. The fact is, most commenter found this post through Googling in a way or another “Australians are stupid”.
Go figure.

This is a new one for me but I can’t resist, I just have to vent before I jump off of the Sydney Harbor Bridge… Never in my life have I lived in a country that claims to be a leader in the free world where there is such a lack of organization, this place is amazing that it works at all. I’m a military pilot and I was at an airfield the other day when some maintenance workers told me that that they were taking the modifications off of some turbine engines from America because their testing equipment was too old and outdated. C-130 aircraft have been around forever and these guys have to de modify them to work on them, in other words they are making the aircraft old and outdated again. Everything here is difficult… looking for a house to rent, finding an expert in a subject, a great meal, a friendly driver, a reasonably priced anything… and this one was the killer for me, I got to listen to some attorneys do battle in court, I could find two high school students in any other country in the world that have seen a few episode any John Grisham movie do better job, what joke it was, you could make up the junk these guys talked. Everything is cheap, there is not too much quality in anything and it all cost an arm and leg. They drink too much, they never do anything on time, they half ass do every job that you give them and they can’t drive to save their lives. Hands down the worst drivers that I have ever seen in the world outside of Korea or North Africa, this is not just some rant, there is a real disconnect in this country. I’m not going to try and figure it out anymore, I’m just happy in the fact that I can fly to Hawaii whenever it gets too bad, and I’m so thankful to the powers that be for being born in the U.S.A, not crazy about the administration at home, but “Hey”, that’s about to change, too bad this place isn’t.

Wow, does anybody think that making broad sweeping generalisations itself is somewhat unintelligent? If all Australians are stupid I guess that I can rightly say that all African Americans are criminals, that all English people have the worst teeth and dental problems etc. etc.

Did you ever consider that most products are not in fact made in Australia as it has a relatively small manufacturing sector? go to your local shop pick up most products and you will notice writing on them stating “made in China or insert other country here”

Did you know that some of the most intelligent, cultured people came from working classes e.g. Michaelangelo and obviously you haven’t taken much notice of the Australian Bureau of Statistics of demographics. Not all of us arrived here 200 or so years ago from England

Yea, I live in Australia, I go to a state school. Some of the people here are absolute retards. But the stupidest people in Australia are usually foreigners, like Kiwis and Maori. Yea we drink here like there’s no tomorrow, but that’s how we have fun so don’t judge us. In fact, I just drank two Bundy rums. In my school almost 10% of all chicks are or were pregnant at a point. Yea most people here are obnoxious and stupid, but there are actually some smart people.
So, I don’t know what i was trying to prove with this message, but before you bag out Aussies, think of me and all the other half decent people.
