Malaysian Budget 2008
The Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi tabled the RM176.9bil Budget 2008, themed “Together Building The Nation and Sharing Prosperity”, in Parliament on Friday. The news as well as the speech summary can be found here. For a more detailed Economic Report from Thestar.com.my, click here.
I am interested about the Budget itself, and I went to the Finance Ministry of Malaysia website to search for any PDF document of the actual budget. Stupidity number one: instant pop-up showing the items relating to Budget 2008. Sadly I found no document of the budget itself, and fortunately I have Firefox to guard me from this pop-up bull shit.
Stupidity number two: the whole website is in Bahasa Malaysia, the Malaysian Language. Although there is an English version, it’s essentially a nice English icing on top of an Malay sponge cake: every documents down to the core is in Malay, while only the top level link is in English. That’s why Malaysia lag behind in terms of foreign investment. That, and the discriminatory economic policy.
The only document relating to the Budget 2008 is the the official Budget Speech by the Prime Minister of Malaysia. I gladly downloaded the PDF document, saving it to My Document. When I open the folder, stupidity number three was revealed: (a picture paints a thousand words)
Yes. The document, which I have not renamed in anyway, is called bs08 - which I would like to think it’s Bull Shit 08.

Such an official document, from such an official ministry, you would think the internal staff would renamed in before uploading it. I guess they have been educated to say bull shit differently in Malay (which would be Tahi Lembu) and not considered anything beforehand.
